1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before? I was on unemployment for a very long, long time. 2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? This is a rather boring answer! I […]

…is KNOWING what you need to change! First of all, I have to just say how much I absolutely LOVE subscribing to Philosophers Notes. It really is a very enlightening and lovely way of getting good thoughts in your head. Whats better is that the advice is totally NOT religious in any form.

Anyhow, today’s Philosophers Note certainly struck a chord with me. I have been complaining about my life for a while now, and after Randy’s passing, I have begun to really think about my life, my choices and where I see myself in the future.
“Everything you want should be yours: the type of work you want; the relationships you need; the social, mental, and aesthetic stimulation that will make you happy and fulfilled; the money you require for the lifestyle that is appropriate to you; and any requirement that you may (or may not) have for achievement or service to others. If you don’t aim for it all, you’ll never get it all. To aim for it requires that you know what you want.”
~ Richard Koch from The 80/20 Principle
Richard is saying that what you want in life SHOULD BE YOURS! After all, it’s the only life you have (or at least can experience) and it would be quite a waste of life energy to spend the whole lifetime doing things that you don’t want to do.
The Note goes on to suggest some excersizes to help recongize your goals and meanings in life:
*What’s your ideal?
I would love to do things that people will need or people will use.
*What do you absolutely LOVE to do?
I love to read, I love to make friends, I love to draw and I love to keep in touch with the world.
*What comes to you effortlessly?
Understanding modern technology (on a consumer level, and some advanced levels) comes to me easily. Also problem solving.
*With whom would you love to spend your time?
I would love to spend time with people who know what I am talking about, understand it and love it nearly as much as I do! I would love to spend more time with my son as well…he is a very talkative chap!
*What would you be doing throughout the day?
I would be working with computers…they keep me focused and I can make different things with them…making software, themes and applications.
*How much would you make?
I would make enough to be able to sustain myself and my family very comfortably. At least $ 40k would be nice.
*Where would you live?
I would NOT live in Clovis, but the reality of returning to El Paso seems dimmer and dimmer as the economy crumbles slowly into a vast mess. I think I would like to live in Taos or Santa Fe…maybe even California.
*Would you be able to hike or meditate or sit in your sauna whenever you want or would you have a boss telling you what you can do when?
I need structure…its jsut who I am. I want a boss to keep me on track, but I also do not want a dictator. I need space to develop the creative juices!
Okay, so I am venturing into the theme building arena for BlackBerry’s. I am a constant visitor on Pinstack, Eveek and CrackBerry, and many of their themes leave a lot to be desired. I am not the type to really ask for things…so I decided […]
It’s been a very difficult couple of weeks for me, and I have been doing all my best to get positive things into my head. Luckily, the internet has plenty of cool resources that tend to make me happy as hell no matter which way […]
