Things I Love Thursday [4]

1000 Awesome Things: Apparently, this blog has been around for quite a while, and is a bit of a celebrity in the blog-o-sphere. It really makes you think about the little things in life that truly are awesome, but are often overlooked. Get My FBI […]

Barack Hussein Obama, 44th President

I watched Barack Obama’s Inauguration today from my desk at work. I was watching the live feed (thank goodness for that!) and I watched every moment…from Cheney being carted out like a feeble geriatric to every one giving Bush the finger and secretly hoping Marine […]

I’m Going to Dallas!

It’s been a hectic couple of weeks, but I have finally managed to sit down and force myself to write a blog. As a matter of fact, I have been so excruciatingly busy, that I haven’t even had a chance to touch base with most of the people I know.

I suppose I have immersed myself so deeply into keeping things running smoothly that I have nearly lost all contact with the world outside of my own bubble. That most certainly a bad thing…once someone loses touch with the world, then the mind can get a little loopy…

So there are a couple of major things on my mind right now.

1. Our vacation. It’s that time of year again, and I am in the process of planning our once a year, weeklong vacation. This year is the usual El Paso visit, but in addition to this, we are going to Dallas, TX as well! David’s father lives in Haltom City which is about 45 minutes out of Dallas. I’ve been researching quite a bit and have made a list of 6 things that I would absolutely LOVE to do, and David will ultimately make the decisions as to which venues we will go to.
a. Dallas Zoo
b. Dallas Museum of Art
c. Dallas World Aquarium
d. Fair Park
e. House of Blues Dallas
f. Dallas Farmers Market

2. My father…I know I didn’t mention it before, but I went to El Paso for a weekend to visit my biological father the weekend right after Christmas. He was very gracious and loving and it surprised me quite a bit. He took us to a Chinese restaurant and just chatted about little things here and there.

3. Genealogy, as I have a plethora of legal documents and pictures to sift through and scan and organize. I started a website dedicated to my research, and updated versions of the family tree can be viewed HERE.

4. Benjamin’s 4th Birthday! I have been trying to make this party as good as possible. Custom ordered the invites and ordered some Hulk Themed supplies from www.birthdayexpress.com . I am hoping…desperately hoping that everything turns out great.

I haven’t been doing a lot of surfing lately, so unfortunately there are no links to post today.
